Leroy E. "Pooh-Bear" Winnie, 55, of Lapla Road, Kingston passed away while in the comforting presence of his family Tuesday, January 8th, 2019 at Golden Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born in Middletown, NY on January 20th, 1963, a son of the late Malvin and Betty (DeRosa) Winnie.

Leroy was employed as a van driver for Gateway Industries. He was a bowling league member at Mid-City Bowling Alley, and also enjoyed darts, hunting and working on cars. He was a loyal fan and collector of anything Elvis.

He is survived by siblings, Malvin F. (Beverly) Winnie of Middletown, Thomas (Linda) Winnie of Kingston, Patti (Mickey) Sparling of Hurley, John M. (Julie) Winnie of Middletown, his daughter, Gabi and her mother Judith. He also leaves behind his beloved dachshund "Bella". Many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by one sister Betty Jean Ehlers.

Cremation held at Wiltwyck Crematory.

A Time of Remembrance will begin at 4 pm Sunday, January 13, 2019 the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park, Town of Esopus. The Winnie family will receive friends at the funeral home, prior to the service, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

I pray that God gives you strength in your grief. Leroy was a good man, I spent much of my childhood defending myself from his shenanigans. My condolences.
